Our vision is to harness and promote the bio-resources of Northeast India through scientific entrepreneurship and sustainable agri-based solutions.
We deliver affordable agri-based technologies to boost productivity by using biotechnology.
Assam has over one lakh Agarwood tree growers, and 20-30,000 oil distillers. Considering only 20% of the world’s demand for agarwood is met in the agarwod perfumery sector, which is a USD 6-8 billion global market, the huge unmet demand present an opportunity to multiply the number of rural people involved in cultivation and extraction.
Our Work
We are a biotech company doing R&D in world’s most valuable oil: Agarwood. We have developed a bio-formulation that enhances the traditional process of production of the fragrant oil.

OuijaPac
OuijaPac is an organic fermentation-based technology for fragrant agarwood oil production that produces more oil in less time compared to the traditional method. This process is highly scalable and cost-effective.
Achievements
Our journey so far has been challenging but exciting. A few of our notable achievements are:
1. SBIRI Awardee - 2019-20
Awarded the Small Business Innovation Research Initiative by DBT, GOI for validation of our findings in Agarwood Research.
2. BIG Grantee - 2017-18
Awarded the prestigious Biotech Ignition Grant by BIRAC, Deptt. of Biotechnoloigy, GOI for research on Agarwood Fermentation.
3. Selected at Bioflavour 2018, Frankfurt
Presented our research work at Bioflavour 2018 international scientific conference for Flavours & Fragrances.
What is Agarwood?
Agarwood from Aquilaria plants has been referred to as a rare and enigmatic source of exotic aroma having references in ancient texts of Kautilya’s Arthashastra, Hiuen Tsang’s travelogues and the accounts of Chinese traders who used the Silk Route to carry these fragrant oils to the Middle East.
Agarwood Oil is a mixture of more than 150 chemical compounds of which a major class known as terpenoids confers the distinct agawrood aroma. These terpeniods are produced through biochemical pathways of metabolism.
Assam in the North Eastern region of India has been historically a cradle of agarwood aromatics.
